Southwest Missouri Bank is looking for an Assistant Trust Administrator to join our team! This position will manage the day-to-day transactions of trust clients' accounts. Enter all client transactions into the accounting system and balance accounts on a daily basis. Serve in an administrative capacity for the department. Present a neat, clean and professional appearance at all times. Cross sell bank products and services as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide quality customer service to customers on the phone and in person while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Balance trust accounts daily, print checks, post dividend and interest payments.
  • Manage the day-to-day transactions of customers' accounts including, but not limited to: monitor cash positions for overdrafts and exceptions to cash policy requirements, review daily transactions on all accounts, set up account ticklers, update changes on trust accounting system, pay bills, assemble and prepare required materials for monthly account reviews and quarterly Trust Committee reviews.
  • Work with customers, scheduling appointments and resolving account challenges.
  • Handle the filing and the preparation of correspondence and documents for the department.
  • Ability to create documents from dictation and transcription as needed.
  • Assists with the administration of trusts and estates.
  • Recognize opportunities to refer customers to bank personnel for bank products and services.
  • Serve as a representative of the bank at various community events.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Accounting and/or legal experience strongly preferred. Experience with Maui and JHA experience would be a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is largely sedentary; however, it does require some degree of bending, standing and twisting. The use of standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers and fax machines, is also required. The ability to read and enter information onto a computer screen and to assist customers over the phone is required.
