Position Title: OCC Salad Bar Coordinator
Department: Dining Services
Reports to: Dining Service Director
The mission of Dining Services is to encourage physical wholeness by providing high-quality, nutritious food and excellent Christ-centered service at an exceptional value for our students, staff, and guests. Institutional Goals supported by Department: IG 3, 4, 5
A. Summary
The salad bar coordinator will serve the college by preparing all the food necessary for the salad and keeping salad items restocked and neat in appearance.
B. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepare a variety of items to keep the salad bar well-stocked.
2. Maintain the temperature of food on the salad bar, in accordance with Health Department guidelines.
3. Prepare specialty salads when necessary.
4. Monitor temperatures of all coolers and freezers.
5. Maintain quantity and quality of all food being served.
6. Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with Health Department guidelines.
7. Follow proper safety, food storage, and labeling procedures.
8. Report to work for scheduled shifts, on time, and properly uniformed.
9. Maintain inventory of what is needed and put on an order sheet and/or advise the director.
10. Manage workers to keep on task and finish duties.
11. Promptly provide Director of any equipment repair or replacement needs.

· Able to cut, chop, and dice fruit and vegetables

E. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
1. Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
2. Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
3. Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
4. Ability to work in a team
5. Excellent communication skills
6. Good physical condition and stamina
7. High school diploma required
8. Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
F. Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to be on their feet for extended periods of time. The employee must squat, stoop, or kneel, and reach above the head and forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp utensils or carry pots and pans. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job. The employee must frequently lift and or move heavy items. The employee may occasionally work with toxic chemicals such as degreasers and sprays. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
