A broad and even global university experience is what Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) offers its students. In fact, a student can be exposed to rich academics and cultural, social, and recreational experiences without ever leaving the MSSU campus. Located in Joplin, Missouri, MSSU offers approximately 200 undergraduate and graduate programs through distinctive divisions. These include a division of arts and sciences, a business administration division, an education division, and a division of technology, which offers programs in high-demand fields such as Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Computer Science, and Respiratory Therapy. In addition to a vast number of degree programs, MSSU’s student life is a culturally and socially vibrant experience. With more than 80 student organizations as well as an active Greek system, there are extracurricular involvements for everyone. MSSU also hosts performances or presentations by comedians, musicians, and speakers, in addition to numerous other campus events. MSSU goes even a step further by bringing the world, or at least a sense of it, to the campus and students. MSSU participates in a unique semester-themed program that focuses on a particular international locale and integrates the culture of that locale into classes and student activities. International students and study abroad programs are also a big part of MSSU and are welcomed and encouraged through semester exchange programs. Student services at MSSU are comprehensive and include standard academic and career testing and counseling, as well as financial aid options such as grants and loans for eligible students.
