Job Purpose:
Key Responsibilities:
- The Inspection position at MIDCON CABLES CO INC is designed to ensure the highest quality standards are met for cable assemblies and related products. The role requires an individual with strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the inspector team, Quality and Manufacturing Engineers, production floor personnel, and customers. The inspector will be responsible for verifying product quality through detailed inspections and maintaining compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the inspector team, Quality and Manufacturing Engineers, production floor personnel, and customers to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Conduct thorough inspections of products under a microscope to ensure compliance with specified quality standards.
- Utilize computer skills to effectively manage inspection data using Microsoft Excel and Word, and learn new software programs as required.
- Work overtime as necessary to meet production and inspection deadlines.
- Read and interpret drawings, including schematics, to accurately assess product specifications.
- Use inspection instruments such as scales, tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to verify product dimensions and quality.
- Understand and adhere to military specifications and customer requirements to ensure product compliance.

- Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620C requirements for workmanship and ANSI-J-STD-001 solder criteria.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience working under a microscope to inspect products.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software programs.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in cable assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including schematics.
- Experience using inspection instruments such as scales, tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong people and communication skills for effective collaboration with inspector teams, Quality and Manufacturing Engineers, production floor personnel, and customers.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
