    Job Description Summary: Minimum starting salary $22.20

    The Licensed Practical Nurse is a licensed nursing care provider who is responsible for delivery of a full range of support services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues. LPN is primarily responsible for facilitating the maximum level of independent functioning of the clients served and demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery and is trained and/or experienced in working with severe mental illness and/or substance abusing diagnosed individuals to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide support services. LPN provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. LPN will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. The LPN will report to the Nurse Coordinator of Adult Psychiatric Practices.

    Education:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.

    • Hold a current Nursing diploma and is licensed by the State of Missouri.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Nursing experience with substance use whether outpatient clinic work or within a nursing facility where clients are housed is preferred.

    • Any experience with sub
      stance use withdrawal management and knowledge of psychopharmacology is a plus.

    Responsibilities:

    • The LPN meets the total clinical needs of the practice patients as determined by the Psychiatrist or Advance Practice Nurse in consultation with or as ordered by the psychiatrist physician.
    • The LPN reports the same to the Nurse Coordinator of Adult Psychiatric Practices but may also report to the Physician or Advance Practice Nurse.
    • The LPN performs other duties as assigned or directed by the Nurse Coordinator of Adult Psychiatric Practices, doctor assigned to or the APN.
    • The LPN utilizes proper communication with higher level nursing and/or physician; ongoing maintenance of appropriate medications, maintaining logs for medication samples and other logs as deemed necessary through clinic.
    • The LPN facilitates efficient transition of patients throughout the office visit. Efficient identification of patient problems; communication of pertinent data to physician/provider; accurate chart/charge preparation and collection of pertinent data.
    • The LPN makes appropriate referrals, demonstrates proper use of standing orders, and ensures appropriate, accurate, and timely documentation in electronic health records.
    • The LPN actively engages patients and family and assists in the education of patient’s plan of care.
    • The LPN meets the productivity standards of the mental health office.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
