ABOUT THE POSITION

The Systems Engineer is responsible for driving the expectations of products and projects through collaboration with engineering, research and development, program management, and customers to clearly define the system architecture, requirements, and their validation. This role is required to be multi-disciplinary. The candidate should expect to define the interactions within battery products, processes, embedded software, application software, cloud infrastructure, test processes and equipment. The candidate is expected to holistically manage risk by the active management of requirements, integration, validation, and delivery of product and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with customers to define customer product specifications and use cases.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to define system level and derived requirements.
  • Drives compliance with internal requirements, internal processes, customer requirements, and customer product specifications through the use of cross functional reviews.
  • Identifies and ensures visibility to risks through the use of standardized system engineering tools and processes
  • Defines requirement validation methods.
  • Proactively derisks projects through collaboration with all functional business areas to validate and test designs early in the development process.
  • Actively drives modular architectures to increase design commonality and product efficiency.
  • Identifies areas of improvement with system design and validation process and drives the team to improve.
  • Participates in defining and improving system engineering processes and tools at EaglePicher.
  • Works with the project teams to define integration plans.
  • Works within the Aerospace technical roadmap to achieve improvements in both product and processes.
  • Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing hardware by enrolling in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering required.
  • Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a design, integration, or verification engineering role.
  • Experience in model-based system design preferred.
  • Experience in requirements management tool(s) such as DOORS required.
  • Must be a U.S. Persons
